II Individually Developed Overseas Internship Awards (IDOI)

The Individually Developed Overseas Internship Award is designed to support undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students in internships with companies, governmental or international agencies, and non-governmental organizations abroad. Full-time undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students, regardless of citizenship, are eligible to apply.

II Travel Awards for Master's Program Research (TAMPR)

The Travel Award for Master's Program Research is designed to support Master's degree students who are doing research abroad as part of their degree program. For the purposes of this award, research is defined as thesis research, participation in an on-going research project as part of a required degree-related work experience, or other independent research toward degree requirements. The research project does not have to be for academic credit. Full-time Master's level graduate and professional school students, regardless of citizenship, are eligible to apply.

II Predissertation Research Awards

The International Institute's Predissertation Research Award provides partial support for preliminary visits to prospective overseas dissertation sites by graduate and professional school students who are planning doctoral research on topics in area and international studies. These awards are intended to enable students to develop a firm foundation for their research.

Deadlines

The application deadline for all three awards is 5:00pm., Monday, March 8. 2004. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be reviewed. No exceptions will be made, IDOI applicants applying through an internship placement agency (such as the Department of State, CDC, IAESTE, etc.) who have not been offered a specific internship placement by the March 8 application deadline may submit an application once the specific internship is confirmed. The last day for such requests is June 1, 2004.
