Community Scholars: Institute for Research on Women and Gender Graduate Student Fellowship Program

The Institute for Research on Women and Gender has announced its "Community Scholars” graduate student fellowship program and invites proposals from graduate students at the University of Michigan planning or conducting research, scholarship and creative activities focusing on women and gender. IRWG has also announced a $500 Research Award Program, which will be awarded to graduate students in any field, for expenses such as books, travel, production or exhibition costs, software, data collection, or payment of subjects.

Regarding the “Community Scholars” program, students may apply for fellowships
for the summer of 2004 or for the summer and fall of 2004. The summer fellowship will provide a stipend of $1,600/month and health care coverage from May through August 2004. The summer/fall fellowships will provide $1,600/month from May through December 2004, health care coverage, tuition at candidacy rate for the fall term, and a research fund of $400.

All graduate students are eligible for both programs, although the majority of
the fellowships will be awarded to doctoral-level students.
