The United States-Indonesia Society Summer Studies Program

This program consists of one month of intensive beginning Indonesian language instruction followed by one month of studies in Indonesian history, culture, and contemporary affairs in Yogyakarta, Central Java. It is sponsored by the United States-Indonesia Society (USINDO) in cooperation with the Indonesian Ministry of Education. Fifteen students in the U.S. are selected through competition to participate in this all-expenses-paid program at Gadjah Mada University in June and July. Selected students receive round-trip economy travel to Yogyakarta, insurance, tuition, an allowance for room and board, and a modest miscellaneous expense allowance. Housing is arranged for in dormitories, boarding houses, or Indonesian families. USINDO is a private, non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. and is administered by a bi-national Board of Trustees.
